An elderly woman called dispatch from her cell phone. She was very distraught as she said, "My car has been broken into. They have stolen my radio, the steering wheel, the brake pedal, and even the accelerator." Dispatch replied to the woman, "Stay with your car. I am sending an officer to your location." The officer soon arrived at the scene to meet the shaken woman. He contacted dispatch and advised, "Disregard. She got into the back seat by mistake." Author unknown
The Lord in His infinite wisdom knew that as we sojourn through life, we would face trials of many kinds. Even those who seek to walk closely with God and live a life pleasing to Him, are not immune to difficult times. Ecclesiastes 3:4 tells us that there is,"...a time to weep and a time to laugh." In the book of Genesis, we read that Sarah, Abraham's wife, conceived Isaac when she was probably ninety years old. When she was told by the Lord that she was having a child, the Bible says Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, "After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?" Genesis 18:12. The Lord asked Abraham, who was about 100 years old, why Sarah had laughed, but the Bible does not record his response. Abraham was probably experiencing not only disbelief, but also great concern, as he was considering what it would be like having a teenager in his home at his age.
""Laughter is the most beautiful therapy God ever granted humanity."
